Types of plastic pipes

Types of plastic pipes

 1) Rigid polyvinyl chloride (UPVC) pipe

UPVC pipe has high impact resistance and chemical resistance. It can be added with different additives during processing according to different requirements to make it have physical and chemical properties that meet different requirements. UPVC pipes are divided into spiral muffler pipes, core foam pipes, radially stiffened pipes, spirally wound pipes, double-wall corrugated pipes, and single-wall corrugated pipes according to different structures. UPVC pipes are mainly used for urban water supply, urban drainage, building water supply and building drainage pipes, and are also widely used for water-saving irrigation pipes.

2) Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) pipe

UPVC pipe is a kind of plastic pipe processed by perchlorovinyl resin. It has good heat resistance, aging resistance and chemical corrosion resistance. It is mostly used as hot water pipe, waste liquid pipe and sewage pipe in foreign countries, and it is mostly used in power cable sheath in China.

3) Polyethylene (PE) pipe

PE pipes are divided into high-density polyethylene pipes (HDPE), medium-density polyethylene pipes (active MDPE) and low-density polyethylene pipes (LDPE) according to their different densities. HDPE pipes have high strength and rigidity; MDPE pipes have In addition to the compressive strength of HDPE pipe, it also has good flexibility and creep resistance; LDPE pipe has good flexibility, elongation, and impact resistance, especially good chemical resistance and high frequency insulation. In foreign countries, HDPE pipes and MDPE pipes are widely used as urban gas pipelines and water-saving irrigation pipelines, and a small amount are used as urban water supply pipelines.

4) Cross-linked polyethylene (PE-X) pipe

Cross-linked polyethylene is to change the plane chain structure of polyethylene molecules into a three-dimensional network structure through chemical or physical methods, so that it has excellent physical and chemical properties. PEX pipes are mainly used for indoor cold and hot water supply and ground radiant heating.

5) Type III polypropylene (PP-R) pipe

Type III polypropylene is the third generation of modified polypropylene, that is, the gas phase copolymerization method is used to randomly and uniformly polymerize PE in the PP molecular chain, so that it has better impact resistance, temperature resistance and creep resistance. PPR pipes are mainly used for farmland irrigation.

6) Polybutene (PB) tube

Polybutene tube has unique creep resistance, can withstand high load for a long time without deformation, is chemically stable, and can be used safely at -20 95 ℃. Mainly used in tap water, hot water and heating pipes, but due to the small supply and high price of PB resin, it is difficult to mass produce and apply in China.

7) Engineering plastic (ABS) tube

ABS is a terpolymer of acrylonitrile, butadiene and styrene. It has high impact strength and surface hardness. It can still maintain toughness and rigidity within the range of -40 to 100 ℃, and is not subject to electrical corrosion and soil corrosion. , The use temperature can reach 90 ℃. ABS pipes are used as plumbing pipes, gas transmission pipes, high-corrosion industrial pipes in foreign countries, and are generally used for indoor cold and hot water pipes and water treatment pipes and corrosive industrial pipes in China.
